MUSIC IN WORLD RELIGIONS

This course is an introduction to the study of music in the world’s religions. Viewing music as an important component of religious experience, this class will introduce the student to many types of religious music of the world, with careful attention to styles of chant, liturgy, and musical expression within specific religious communities.
